Recent estimates suggest that fraud against the public sector costs public services around £21bn. In looking to deliver better services at a reduced cost, the Government has highlighted fraud as a key area in which major savings can be found and, as reform is implemented across the public sector, ensuring that measures are in place to tackle fraud and error will be crucial.
