Lloyds TSB says that it has made strides in preventing online banking fraud, by using a new access code system.
The bank announced that five months after the launch of the key-ring sized device, none of the 23,500 customers involved in the trial had reported any theft from their accounts.
The new tool is called the Access Code Device and it is the latest way of logging on to internet banking.
Matthew Timms, internet banking director said: "Lloyds TSB was the first bank to give this type of device to customers and is at the forefront of tackling online fraud.
"The response from customers has been fantastic and the fact that nobody taking part in the trial has had any fraud on their account since using this device is testament to the fact that technology is the way forward."
Trials were begun back in October of last year. The device generates a new six-digit number every time a customer logs on to do some internet banking.
