FCC Paragon has become the first tenant vetting agency to use Callcredit’s CallML as a way of providing electronic proof-of-residency checks. Letting agents and private landlords working with FCC Paragon can now use this facility to prove the identity and residency of potential tenants through a simple-to-use, web-based search system.
Businesses using the award winning CallML product, can access proof of name-at-address data held on an individual’s credit file. Callcredit’s powerful data search tool is quicker, more efficient and more reliable than paper based proofs. CallML also incorporates vigorous fraud checks, such as forwarding address links and deceased indicators, which will further strengthen FCC Paragon’s fraud measures.
In addition to this, CallML is designed to address all issues set out in the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group guidelines. Whilst FCC Paragon falls outside the regulated sector, the JMLSG encourages firms to have regard to the guidance as industry good practice. The guidance is HM Treasury approved and so provides FCC’s agents and landlords with extra reassurance when proving an applicant lives at the stated address.
